CHARITIES WE ARE SUPPORTING 2024

TYNEDALE HOSPICE AT HOME

Supporting families in rural Northumberland
Tynedale Hospice at Home is a local charity, established in Hexham 31 years ago. The charity has one main goal, to support patients and families dealing with life limiting illness and sudden death.

The majority of people would choose to receive care in their own home and avoid unwanted admissions to hospital inn the final stage of their life. Our unique service means that people can remain in familiar surroundings in the comfort of their own home. We create a personalised care journey which extends to bereavement support for families, carers and children.

Over the past 30 years, the charity has continued to grow and is now able to support the local community with the following services.

As a registered charity, Tynedale Hospice at Home relies on over 90% of its income from charitable donations, grants and income from its shops. Thanks to our community we are able to deliver care services free of charge:
• Specialised end-of-life nursing care and support to patients in their own homes
• Patient transport service
• Complimentary therapies
• Bereavement and counselling support for children and adults

The charity covers an 800 sq mile radius across Tynedale, Ponteland and West Northumberland, much of which is rural. To be eligible for our care services you need to be registered at a GP Practice in our catchment area. (NB the area is from Bellingham and Scots Gap in the North, Haltwhistle in the West, Allendale in the South, Ponteland and Prudhoe in the East)
